New Hope for Austin

As you may or may not know, in February of 2014 Austin had his first Grand Mal Seizure, since then the seizures focalized into the right frontal lobe of his brain. He was diagnosed with intractable complex partial seizures in April of the same year. He is currently on the maximum dosage of two anti-seizure medications which in itself is hard on his little body and brain. Up until Sunday he had only been having an average of 1 partial seizure a day (still too many). Unfortunately this all changed on Sunday night when Austin had another grand mal seizure lasting approximately 10 minutes. While being monitored at Midland Memorial he continued to have partial seizures so Cooks was contacted and Ativan (rescue medicine) administered. This should have completely stopped any seizing, however, it did not so Cooks requested transport. They took a care flight to Cook Children’s ER. The team there, with advise from his neurologist, made the plan to give him what is usually used as a rescue medicine as a preventive along with his routine seizure medicine. The next step in this journey is to go back to Cooks Children’s for Phase 1 surgery evaluation testing. This testing will require a weeklong stay in the hospital along with a down payment of at least $3,500 to begin the testing. If surgery is an option the family will be left with even more medical/travel expense. I’m reaching out because this family doesn't need to worry about down payments to be able to have their son tested for a surgery that could provide New hope for Austin.
Our prayer now is that they will be able do the tests in the next few weeks and Austin will  able to have surgery to eliminate these seizures and get him off all the medicine. They  feel so blessed by each and every one of you and know that times are tough if you cannot donate Please just add them to your prayer list lets create a chain that cannot be broken. Psalm 46:1 " God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."
