On Monday April 2, 2018 Chris Pys, husband (39) and father of two, was involved in a hit and run accident in Campbell River, BC. He was T-Boned at high speed at 5:40am when he was on his way to work as a faller to support his family and their farm. The driver left the scene. The accident was called in shortly thereafter. And the female driver was apprehended by RCMP that morning in Oyster River, BC.
Chris was rushed to the hospital with life threatening injuries. He went through emergency surgery to stabilize him for a flight to a hospital in Victoria. Unfortunately he succumbed to his injuries before they could get him there. The first people on scene, the first responders and all medical and RCMP truly gave every ounce of their effort to save Chris.
Chris lived for his family, his farm and his friends. Chris dedicated his life to those three things. Chris had a larger than life personality. He was the first person to jump in and lend a hand whenever anyone needed it, or join on a random adventure. Chris was the rock of his family and his friends. This loss is immeasurable.
Chris leaves behind his fiancé and partner 21 years Chantal, his two sons Quinn and Liam. Unfortunately Chris did not have life insurance. He worked a full time job as a faller while also running a large farm. The financial burden will be immediate.
Chris would be the first person to give any one he met the shirt off his back. His family now needs our support. Please consider donating to help the family and the farm operate during the tragedy.
