Disabled Family, Rent, Hungry Cats

Donation protected

Bessy says, "Feed me! I am the devourer of souls... and treats. Mostly treats. The souls are too much work."

We are a disabled trans* family of five, with one (mostly) able-bodied member who is working. The other four of us have chronic pain, psychiatric disorders including severe PTSD, and other medical problems that make any of us trying to work an absolute impossibility.

The problem: We were getting $700/mo in state rent assistance until it was abruptly ended this month. While some of us have been able to get on disability cash assistance, which includes applying for SSI (BTW, this is a process that, on average, takes three years), but it's only $120/mo. You should see the problem.

Worse, the rent assistance is what was saving our bacon already. Our bills exceed my husband's income by roughly $200, and that's not counting other household necessities such as shampoo, laundry detergent, and cat food and kitty litter. Trust me, that last one is a necessity, or our clothing and the carpet will pay the price.

While my husband is looking for other work, it's the holiday season. It's unlikely that anything other than temp work will be available. We need to be able to get through until February, when our tax return will help us make it through until he is able to find better paying work.

Any little bit helps. Even if it's just a buck. If you can't spare anything, I understand completely, and we appreciate signal boosts and shares just as much. I cannot put into words how grateful we are for assistance of any kind. Thank you, first for reading this, and secondly for any action you may choose. It means a lot to us.

Additionally, I am a professional author, although my works are out of print at the moment; I have plans to launch new work next year, with the caveat that I am disabled and this may interfere with those plans. It may take longer. I will be adding some related rewards, along with Tarot readings and other stuff! So please check that out, too, and maybe something will catch your eye. :)

Thank you, again, from the bottom of our hearts. We know this is a difficult time for anyone to spare money, with the holidays impending. I cannot put our gratitude for any assistance into words, because words simply fail to express. Simply put: Thank you.

EDIT: Some folks have asked if there are other ways to help out, such as alternate donation methods. Please contact me directly at [email redacted], as Terms of Service for GoFundMe prevent me from going into further detail.
