Keeping Kayleigh

On the morning of March 12, 2018, a single mom of two found her precious sixteen year old daughter completely unresponsive and nearly aspirated from taking an excess of prescription medication meaning to take her life. She was not just seeking attention, she meant to end her pain. Thankfully, Christina was able to get her to the hospital & saved her life. However, Christina & Kayleigh's journey of mental illness began years before, as Kayleigh has gone through multiple brain surgeries & suffers with mental illness daily. She experienced bullying in school & Christina was so close to losing her daughter due to a flawed system of insurance battles & getting Kayleigh in a facility that can truly help her. In two short weeks, since this occurred, this mom that works three jobs, has brought awareness of mental illness & will not quit fighting, not only for Kayleigh, but others that struggle with the mental illness stigma. Thank God, Christina fought until Kayleigh was accepted into a long term facility where she will be safe & get assistance in living with this illness. We know Kayleigh's medical care is expensive & we want to help Christina, not only with Kayleigh's medical expenses, but Christina is forming a Kindness Kampaign that will help others in school find a safe place to get assistance. She has also planned an event in our local city, (Covington, Ga) Keeping Kayleigh, that will bring lots of resources together in one venue & most importantly awareness to mental illness.
