I'm James Travis, a former military contractor, and have recently returned home to the states and purchased my first home for my pregnant wife and oldest daughter. After living in our home for less than a year, our home was destroyed by the Great Flood of 2016 in Louisiana. 
We have been displaced from our home in Denham Springs, the area which recieved the worst flood damage in the entire state, since August of 2016. We have been relocating and relocating staying with family and friends and trying to piece our lives back together. With our new baby just months away from being born this stress is becoming too much on my wife in her final trimester.
My daughter, Makya, has also been having problems coping in school not knowing where she will lay her head the next day. We really need help in raising money to demold our home, put up sheet rock, and refurnish it so that our family and new baby will have a safe place to live and grow. The money we did have we used paying a contractor that has left us in the same state so now we are coming to our friends and peers, humbly asking for help and support to rebuild so that we can return home.
With Christmas right around the corner the best gift I could give my family is to return home by the holidays. That's all we want. Your support, help, encouraging words, and financial contributions would be the best gift our family could ask for. As a former contractor for our military and armed forces, I appreciate the support from you, my country for giving back to my family, as I have so unselfishly given of myself to this country.
