SOCF CO Matt Mathias Recovery Fund

On Tuesday, February 20th, 2018 at Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Lucasville, Ohio two inmates attacked Correction Officer Matthew Mathias, stabbing him 32 times with handmade 10" shanks.  After a quick response from other Correction Officers and Medical Team he was life flighted to a hospital in West Virginia where he underwent a several hour surgery for his injuries.  CO Mathias is in critical condition and is currently on a ventilator in ICU.  He has a long road ahead of him for recovery.  His wife (Shelley) is also an employee for SOCF as a Recovery Counselor.  She has been at Matt's bedside the entire time.  We (the family) has been approached by  numerous people asking us to create an account so that they  could donate and help Matt and Shelley with the recovery expenses so that they do not have to worry about the financial burden.  Thank you for any and all donations made.  Matt, Shelley and our entire family appreciate your love and support.  Please continue to pray for him as he still has a long way to go on this recovery process.
