On Monday, 12th Feb, Cyclone Gita caused catastrophic disaster in the Kingdom of Tonga. One place that was hit hard was Acts Community School, a Prep to High school institute that has had a profound impact in the lives of hundreds of children from around Tonga. A fairly new school, Acts Community School has worked hard for 8 years to build a school that places value on students, that gives them hope and a future. The school is producing amazing leaders for the Kingdom of Tonga. On Monday night, within a few hours, the school lost resources, furniture, walls, windows and its roof. It is currently under water and the staff are working hard to salvage what they can. It’s a huge job. We are sending a few Tradies with funds for materials to Tonga to help rebuild the school. Here is our chance to restore what Cyclone Gita took away from these students and allow the great staff to get back to raising this next generation.

Hi to all that are supporting the rebuild of Tonga’s Acts Community School.

Great news is that the students returned to the school grounds to start term 2 with a brand new building full of classrooms! Thanks to your generosity!

Now just to fill the classrooms with the resources required!

After a term of relocating 3 times and learning out of tents and houses, no doubt this term will be a relief for teachers, students and parents.

Hi guys, it’s been a while since our last update.

The Aussie team were able to put most of the roof on the new building before they returned home. They then left money with the school to complete the build and it’s almost complete! They are hoping to have classes in there on Monday to start the new term. So exciting! Check out the latest pics.

We have had so many people generously support, thank you. Thank you to those that have done small Fundraising activities to help that little bit extra as well.

Please, continue to share about this school as we still need to send some new resources to fill these classrooms.

Malo Aupito! Great work!

Hi all, thanks for your support so far. The building is not complete but we were able to finish off a large portion and leave funds for its completion.

At the moment, another cyclone nearby has caused flooding to the school’s temporary location so they have had to postpone school until further notice. Staff are working to salvage what resources they have left... again!

What a great staff the school has and resilient students!

Today is the last day for the guys in Tonga. They have done an amazing job! The building is not finished but they did heaps!

They have also left all the money with the school so they can afford to get the remainder of the building finished.

Thank you so much for your donations. Not a cent was wasted. What a great investment. We will still keep the donations open as there are still so many resources that need replacing. Feel free to share the Go Fund Me page as all money from now will go to restore the resources. Thank you again! Malo Aupito
