Help Odin's Family

Sweet, handsome, Odin is currently at Children's Hospital suffering from respiratory failure. He is currently on life support in a drug induced coma.  

He has been in the ICU since April 9th.  He was put  on a ventilator after being taken to the hospital via ambulance.   Odin's fever continued off and on all week last week, he was sedated, but able to watch TV for short periods. By Friday (April 15th), his blood pressure dropped dangerously low and then they took him into surgery to put him on an ECMO Machine. He was sedated again, but then they let him wake up and he was playing video games even on the IV, ventilator and ECMO machine. On Sunday he developed an air leak which filled his tissues in his chest and neck..he became very anxious, in pain, and began trying to breathe on his own. They gave him a paralytic to stop his chest from moving, decreased the ventilator to partially deflate his lungs, and snowed him with sedatives.  

The doctors told Shannon and Robert yesterday (April 18th) that it is likely that Odin will need to be on the ECMO machine for several weeks and at the hospital for a couple of months to let his body recover and heal. 

Thank you to everyone who has sent the family well wishes and have prayed for them.  With the news yesterday, the family is now in need of financial support as well to help with medical costs, driving to and from the hospital, and meals.  If you are able to help them financially please do so through this site.  Odin will be celebrating his 10th birthday in the hospital.  Keep the prayer chain going for this amazing young man!!
