K9 Ofc Cliff Trovillo Recovery Fund

Officer Cliff Trovillo was involved in a motor vehicle crash and severely injured on Friday, October 16th, 2015 while on Patrol serving the community of Franklin Township. Ofc. Trovillo was traveling on a state highway when a drunk driver failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with Ofc. Trovillo's patrol vehicle. Due to the impact of the crash, Ofc. Trovillo's vehicle was forced off the roadway where he struck a tree. Thankfully, two good samartians were able to remove Ofc. Trovillo from his patrol vehicle; possibly saving him from further injuries. Shortly after the crash occured, Ofc. Trovillo was flown by helicopter to Cooper University Hospital Trauma Center for his injuries. Ofc. Trovillo suffered two broken wrists, a broken ankle, a broken tailbone and a concussion. As of October 22nd, Ofc. Trovillo is still in Cooper Hospital recovering from surgery that took place on October 21st.

At the time of the accident, Cliff was only on his second day back to work after being out for nearly a year with a broken elbow due falling on ice while coaching his son's ice hockey team. As you can imagine the past year has been a tough time for Cliff, his wife and thier two sons. Due to his injuries over the past year, Cliff's wife has not been able to work in order to help take care of him.  As a department we are trying to take as much mental, physical and financial stress off of Cliff as possible in this tough time for his family.

Cliff has been with the Franklin Township Police Department in Gloucester County, New Jersey for thirteen years. Currently he is assigned to the K9 division with his partner, Ceno. Thankfully, Cliff did not have Ceno on patrol with him on the night of the accident.

As one of Cliff's co-workers, I wish there was a better way to not only express how good of a police officer Cliff is, but how great of an overall guy he is. He has been there countless times for different members of our police department in times of need; as well as for multiple members of our community. In this tough time for Cliff and his family, we generously ask for any help possible at all. We thank all of you in advance for your geneoristy and continued support for Ofc. Trovillo and our Police Department.
