Andreia’s Battle With Stage-4 Cancer

Hello everyone! We are reaching out and asking all of our friends and family take a moment to read this message I am writing for my beautiful mother, Andreia. For those who may not know, my mother was diagnosed in September with Stage 4 Gallbladder Cancer that has spread to her liver. It’s impossible to describe the hardships that one goes through when battling this disease. One’s perspective of life does a complete 180. To also explain the strength my mother has had in the past four months is also indescribable, and I’m in awe of her everyday for all she has been able to withstand. Her cancer is inoperable, and after trying rounds of chemotherapy that showed little results, the oncologists here in south Florida have decided there’s nothing more that can be done. The chemo therapy treatments have poisoned and intoxicated her body, and she is currently in hospice- BUT SHE HAS NOT GIVEN UP. Since she’s been admitted to hospice, she has begun a plant based diet, working hard to meditate and practice the yoga she’s able to do, and has started practicing other forms of alternative healing- Su Jok therapy to be exact. 15 minutes of this therapy relieved her constant pains, allowing her to skip being sedated with another dosage of morphine (which is a HUGE deal!) It truly felt like a miracle when you consider the horrible side effects from the heavy narcotics they’ve been pumping into her for so long. We are working hard to fly her safely to The Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Massachusetts. This facility is ranked #4 in the country for cancer research. On top of this- all of my mother’s brothers and family live in Boston. Though she has the willpower and mindset to face this trip, flying commercial or doing a road trip isn’t safe for her. In order to have her arrive safely, we have to arrange an Air Ambulance. This form of transportation is very costly, and unfortunately we aren’t able to afford this service on our own. She believes there is a way for lengthen and improve the quality of her life, and so do we. And so we ask our friends and family to remember my mother, recall her kind loving spirit and keep her in your prayers. If you’re able to help, even if it’s one dollar, it’ll lead us one step closer to creating this miracle. Let’s come together- do our own tiny part and open our hearts to help this mother, sister, daughter, wife, friend, and most importantly- spiritual being. Things happen for a reason, and miracles can happen. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you for keeping her in your thoughts and prayers.
