£50,000 needed for Rosie’s cancer treatment

Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story! Having run out of options in the UK, Rosie is now undergoing specialist treatment in Turkey at a leading cancer treatment clinic and we need your help…

Nearly three years ago, after being misdiagnosed by her GP for almost a year, Rosie was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer at only 34. She was operated on immediately to remove the main tumour and part of her bowel, but the cancer had already spread to her liver and lymph nodes. After 34 rounds of chemotherapy and an operation in April 2017 which removed over 70% of her liver, Rosie still has cancer in her liver and lymph nodes and there are no further options available on the NHS.

Despite the seriousness of her condition, Rosie has done all she can to give herself the best chance of beating the cancer. This has included significant dietary and lifestyle changes and alternative therapies alongside her medical treatment. She has been a true inspiration and her family and friends are humbled by her immense strength and determination.

The next step on her incredible journey is to the ChemoThermia Oncology Center in Istanbul, where the doctors are pioneering treatment that combines the highest level of conventional cancer treatments with science-based integrative therapies with the aim of eradicating the cancer rather than looking at prolonging life.

At the clinic Rosie can receive the drug Avastin which is only available privately in the UK, alongside Metabolically Supported Chemotherapy, Hyperthermia treatment, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, PhytoPharmaceutical Supplements and a supervised Ketogenic diet. We’ve spoken to and met with people for whom this treatment has worked wonders and put stage 4 cancers into long-term remission.

Rosie is travelling to Istanbul for 3 days every two weeks. We have funded the initial treatments ourselves but will soon be unable to continue to do so and it is highly likely that Rosie will need at least 6 months of treatment at the clinic. This is why we now need to ask for help. Each 3 day treatment costs £6,000, with scans an additional £1000, meaning that even if we are unable to raise the full amount, every donation will help towards an additional treatment and an additional chance at fighting the tumours.

This treatment could be truly life changing and we are extremely grateful for anything you can contribute towards it.

From the bottom of our hearts... Thank you!

With love from,

The MacArthur family

Rosie's funeral will be on Friday 14th December at 3.00pm at Hendon Crematorium, followed by a reception with refreshments from 4.00pm onwards at The Adam and Eve in Mill Hill Village. Both venues are within walking distance of Mill Hill East tube station and there is parking at both.

No flowers please but donations can be made to the following charities:
The Wood Green Animal Charity
Leverton and Sons, funeral directors, have a tribute website with details of the venues and where donations can be made.

We hope to see you there and would be grateful if you could let us know if you will be coming to the reception, so we can get an idea of numbers.

Best wishes,

Dear Friends,

We hope you are well. Unfortunately Rosie has had a very tough 3 weeks. After her chemoembolisation (her last procedure in Turkey) she was in a lot of pain and was taken into the Royal Free where they have been managing her pain relief. We got her home yesterday and are so relieved and extremely happy to have her back, as is she.
The situation in the past few weeks has left little time for anything else and so unfortunately we have had to postpone our pub Quiz which we were planning for the 25th.
Thank you so much for your continued to support! Please keep Rosie in your thoughts and prayers. She is a fighter beyond belief! We continue all you amazing people updated.
Much Love from all the MacArthurs xx
