Hi, my name is Gillian Walcott. If someone told me a year ago I would be celebrating my 19th birthday in a hospital bed, the same bed I’ve been on for the last 2 months I would call them a liar. My cancer story started a year ago when I first experienced pain in my left leg and I didn’t think it could be cancer and neither did my doctor back then. But as the pain got worst, a MRI later confirmed I had Chondrosarcoma, a form of bone cancer.

Coming to terms with this sickness was the hardest thing for me but the thought of losing my entire left limb is unbearable. The cancer is currently in my left thigh and hip and the doctors think my best shot is at amputation. I’m scared I don’t want to lose my leg however the leg being there is causing a lot of blood clot and right now I need an Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) Filter in place before the doctors can be of much more assistance to me. Though the thought of amputation is scary, whatever gives me the best shot at beating this thing I’m down for it.

I am seeking help towards my medical expenses. I just want to be able to live as normal of a life as possible. I just need a chance and getting that IVC filter will do that for me. The money raised will go towards the IVC Filter, a prothesis leg and any other medical expense.
