Elliott's support fund
My name is Michelle Bartell, I am the fiance of Elliott Longworth who is currently in jail. He suffered his first psychotic break for paranoid schizophrenia and the system that was supposed to help him, failed him. Elliott has no prior record and is a very loving, caring, and gentle man; he is so full of life and amazing. Elliott was in a psych ward of a hospital where he was placed with a roommate even though he was there for being a danger to himself or others. One night he had a black out, which is very common with his mental illness, and he harmed his roommate and subsequently was taken to jail. We bailed him out from the original charge and he was placed in a treatment center but when the charge changed he was placed back in jail. While in jail the second time he was pepper sprayed and put in a straight jacket for trying to hurt himself (which for obvious reasons is not right). Elliott has been extremely paranoid and hearing voices, because of this we want to get him out of jail and back into a facility that will provide him with proper treatment as well as the medicine he needs to get better. Me and his family did everything we were supposed to do to avoid this incident and we are all truly disappointed in the hospital for not providing better care for Elliott as well as the person he harmed. We are just trying to get him the help he needs and we appreciate anything, even if it's just a prayer, that helps us help him. Thank you so much! Elliott was rearrssted on the 5th of March. They are keeping him without bond and he has two charges now for the same incident. Attempted first degree murder and attempted first degree murder with a weapon (which was a broken comb found in the room). His fee's for being in jail are over 300 dollars, meaning he can't even buy day to day items until we pay all of that off. They also charge him 3 dollars a day, which doesnt seem like much but it adds up quickly. We are also still paying off his bail, from his brief time out, which is about 5000. So any more money we recieve will be used for those expenses, as well as any other medical bills that the hospital is charging. Thank you everyone and please continue to pray!
Thank you everyone I just wanted to let you know we were able to get elliott out and he is now recieving medical treatment and is on his way to getting healthier. We still appreciate all the help we can get. Thank you so much! This is a photo I took prior to his release. He is happy to be out and getting the help he needs.
So we are trying very hard to help this take off. We are getting so close. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone. We appreciate all you have done for us. I also want to update everyone on Elliott's condition he is not receiving the proper medication at the jail they have him on the cheapest medicine that causes muscle spasms all over the body. He is very confused and isn't being fed much. He told me in his last visit that his vision has become very blurry he can't even read. And when I called to inform someone they said they couldn't do anything unless he tells them but he doesn't trust them which is a big apart of his illness. We just really want to get him into a facility where he can have better care and medicine. Thank you again everyone and hopefully soon we will have him out!!
