In Memory of Kaycee Schaefer

This GoFundMe Account was created for our sweet Kaycee (Katherine Cassidy) Schaefer, may she rest in peace. She was a loving daughter and sister, but most importantly she had strong aspirations and was kind-hearted to everyone that came into her life. On Wednesday evening, December 30th, Kaycee suffered a terrible allergic reaction that led to a severe asthma attack and was immediately rushed to the hospital. After hours in unstable condition, she passed away.
Kaycee, a senior at Hunterdon Central High School, was an energetic, fun-loving girl who was deeply passionate about art and caring for animals. She was an important member of the National Art Honor Society at Hunterdon Central and received many accolades due to her creative talents. Aside from her artistic abilities, Kaycee worked side-by-side with her family on her beloved Schaefer Farms in Readington, NJ. On the farm, she nurtured many of the animals, always lent a helping hand to people in the farm stand, and enjoyed giving people a good scare in the haunted house of Schaefer’s Frightfest. She was going to graduate from high school this June and planned on continuing her education to become a veterinarian assistant.
That said, Kaycee will be remembered for the lives that she touched throughout her 18 years. She was a loving daughter to her parents, Chris and Kristy, and an excellent sister to her siblings Andrew, Timmy, Morgan and Trey. She was a great friend to the students at Hunterdon Central and many other people she met through her daily encounters. Most importantly, she was an amazing girl with a heart of gold and will certainly carry on in the memories of her family and friends.
The past 36 hours have truly been life changing and there are no words to express the loss our family has had to endure. All of the donations received through this GoFundMe Account will go towards the medical and funeral costs incurred by the Schaefer Family, and hopefully will give them the time they need to heal from this tragedy.
