Ipad Minis for Brooks elementary

Donation protected
Hi my name is Brian Scott and I am a father of five from White lake Michigan. I have a school of awesome students that could use your help. The students and I would like to buy Ipad Minis for all of our classrooms. Our goal is to raise enough money to purchase 10 Ipad Minis (with cases) to use in small learning groups (5 students each) and also as 1-on-1 learning tools. We would also like to purchase wi fi routers and the Reflector application to use with our ceiling mounted SmartBoards and projectors. There are reward levels with the thank you gifts they will be making; they have volunteered to give up their recess time in order to show you their appreciation. Thank you for looking at our page and we hope you can help us out.

Why iPad Minis?

Cost point- An iPad Mini costs $300 dollars for a 16GB model. With this, students will get the full functionality of an iPad (except the retina display), but for less expense. This means more iPads for more students for less money.

Educational Apps- With thousands of free educational apps, the iPad Mini has the greatest potential in the classroom setting. There are educational apps that help students who are struggling with reading or other subjects, not only to catch up to current grade level, but exceed grade level ability. The iPad Minis and educational apps can turn a struggling student's negative educational experience into a life-changing positive experience.

Parents and Homework- There are apps like Show Me that can record a lesson in the classroom and turn it into an online tutorial for parents to use when helping their child complete homework at home. These iPad Minis would give parents better tools at home to reinforce daily classroom lessons and help their children complete homework.

Durability- In the "drop test" reviews, the iPad Mini held up remarkably well and often better than the larger iPad. The iPad Mini's construction makes it durable and this is important for everyday use in the classroom. Coupled with a good protective case, our iPad Minis will last a very long time in the classroom.

Environment- If we could replace 1 piece of paper for each subject everyday (which would be easy with the iPad Mini), we could cut our paper use down by 26,100 pieces of paper a year. Over a five year period, this means at a minimum, we would save 130,500 pieces of paper! And the more we use our iPad Minis the less paper we would use meaning double or even triple this amount. Imagine helping us save nearly half a million pieces of paper in the next 5 years!

Students ready for the future- To be ready for the world of the future, students need to be using the technology of today. Classrooms need to be saturated with up to date technology to help our students be able to succeed in a future. Think back to when you were in school, could you imagine that we would have all of the technology we have today? Help give our students the technology of today so they can invent the future that we couldn't even dream being possible.

Local, National, and Global Education- With Apple being one of the most used technologies in the world, our IPad Minis will give our students the chance to learn with students in other cities, states, and countries. Using FaceTime and Skype, the iPad Mini will not only give our students the opportunity to learn about people from other cultures and countries, but also learn with people from other cultures and countries. As our lives become more global, our students need opportunities early to talk with and learn alongside people from all over the world.
