4VR RIP

4VR RIP is dedicated to restoring unfinished classic vehicles left behind by those servicemen and women killed and wounded in action.  Founded by a  veteran, the goal is to fulfill the dreams of those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice through our shared love of cars.

MSG (R) U.S. Army Ranger Eric Stebner is the President and Founder.  He started this organization after his best friend and fellow Ranger SGT. Bradley S. Crose was killed in action while they fought together in The Battle of Robert's Ridge [Takur Ghar] on March 4th, 2002 in Afghanistan.  In total, seven U.S. Special Operators lost their lives during that notorious 17-hour Operation Anaconda.  Eric was awarded the U.S. Army’s Silver Star Medal for his gallantry in action on that day.

Brad’s dream had been to restore his 1981 Corvette. Eleven years after his death, Brad’s mother was ready to part with his beloved project car but wanted to keep it “in the family.” Eric took the vehicle and with the help of other gearhead veterans, fulfilled Brad's dream by restoring the Corvette. The personalized license plate now reads: 4VR RIP.  The seven-year process was instrumental in founding the 4VR RIP organization. Eric searches for compelling stories of service members and first responders who have been killed in the line of duty, restoring the dream vehicles left behind by those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for surviving family members and loved ones.

This June, on the 25th Anniversary of the annual Hot Rod Power Tour, Eric will reveal Brad’s restored 1981 Corvette and drive it in his honor. Joining him will be Sheila Maguhn, Brad’s Gold Star Mother. 4VR RIP will drive with a group of ten cars composed of family, friends, sponsors, and those who have supported 4VR RIP by keeping the memory and dream of SGT. Bradley S. Crose alive.
