April 30-May 2. For 3 days the public thought Scott was shot in self defense and Scott attacked the deputy. He was called a Suspect. He was called a Shotgun Wielding Man. He was basically just another crazy man who ambushed an officer. Little did the public know that he was shot inside his home behind a closed door with wife and children. Little did they know that six months before the sheriff's Dept was looking for someone in the area and they beat on Scott's kitchen door at night and he answered the door with the same shotgun and laughed with the deputies that it's not a good idea to beat on someone's door at night. Little did the public know that the deputy fired four shots into that living room window aimed at a man who was only answering his door being beat on at midnight. After those four shots, the deputy kicked in the door and shot two more times, killing Scott. Little did they know that they treated my sister like some criminal's wife, not letting her hold him with blood everywhere in the home that they had raised their children in. Little did the public know. For three days. But yet "we" are the "dividers". "We" are the "anti-police". Good grief. We love our policeman, every one of them. Scott did too. No criminal record. Nothing but respect and loyalty from anyone who knew him. We were dismayed and irritated that no one was listening to us when we said, no, our stories are conflicting. Why is it so wrong to try to keep a loved one who died innocently, why is it so hard to say Hey! Those stories you are running are not right! Those stories are making an innocent man look like a crazed killer, not fair. Not fair at all. I was trying my best to do this (making our story public knowledge) without hate and finger pointing or direct attention to any single person. We just wanted the truth to be known. That's all we wanted.
Scott Knibbs was filled with love, hard-work, fun, and hilarity. With him gone there are expenses that have occurred please support Missy and their children in this time of need. Please continue to pray during this heartbreaking time for Missy, the children, family, and friends of Scott .

We are Calvin and Kristy Weeks from Franklin NC. We are Scott and Missy Knibbs friends who are wanting to raise money to help Missy in her time of need. The funds raised will go to funeral cost and the cost of starting over in a new home. Once this account is set up we plan on giving Missy all information so she can access the account and take ownership of it.
