The Bandari School Bus

The Bandari Project is a not-for-profit organisation that was founded in 2014 by Seif Sakate, who grew up in Mto wa Mbu, Tanzania and now resides in Port Fairy, Australia. The Bandari Project aims to break the cycle of poverty through providing free education to vulnerable children, employment to single mothers and training to marginalised women. 

The Bandari Project is currently in the process of completing construction on their primary school in Mto Wa Mbu. The school is currently expanding with the number of students increasing by 20 each year. Once the school is complete, some students will be walking more than 10km a day just to get an education. 

This Go FundMe page has been created to raise money to buy a bus to minimise the distance the children have to walk everyday. We believe by providing transport, each child will be able to focus on school and gaining opportunities in the classroom, instead of spending 3+ hours a day walking to and from school.

The school bus is essential as many of our students will be unable to attend school without it and it will enable us to offer a quality education to a wider range of children around the Mto wa Mbu area.
