On February 22, 2016, Derek's body was found in Salmon Lake, Belgrade, Maine. His family is raising funds for cremation and a small service.
Derek grew up in Sabattus and went to school there. He did not have much, but he cherised his kids, family and friends.
Derek's family is hoping to cremate him and give him a nice service for freinds and family to gather and celebrate his life.
