Dominica needs our help

Donation protected
On 16th September, Dominica was hit by Hurricane Maria, a disaster which has caused tremendous devastation to the nature Island.

There has been increasing news coverage on the state of affairs down there over the past few days, with growing consensus that Maria has left Dominica ‘worse than a war zone.’ No electricity, no water and no communication with the outside world, families sitting in the dark with no roof over their heads. I’m not sure I could really imagine being in that situation; some don’t have that luxury.

The Dominican community around the world have been reaching out to the victims for days, with little to no success. My family were fortunate enough to have heard that my father is coping, however he stressed the pain that the island has experienced. There are other family members who we are yet to hear from. Not getting a response from those we care most about while they overcome these adverse circumstances is hard, just an update telling us that everything’s ok would be enough, even though we can see it’s not.

Dominica is in my blood, and always will be. It simply does not sit well with me that our people are suffering. If you’ve ever been to the island the joy are the people and the purity of the environment will forever resonate with you. With our help this can be restored.

Any donation is enough and will go directly into the hands of the people who need it. Food, water, clothes and material for new houses - our money can go a long way to give these people a future.Dominica needs our help.Dwayne and family
