Rich (Greg's brother)and Summer are curently caring for both Haley and Sophia living with them in their home . They will be withdrawing the funds on behalf of the girls. I have been in contact with both an attorney and an accountant for the family and I am extrememly confident that this money will be used to benefit both Haley and Sophia. Greg and Sarah Moyers lost their life in a tragic car accident Sunday September 25th as they returned from a family vacation in Florida. Hailey and Sophia both survived the accident, but now are without both parents.
Greg and Sarah were two of the most giving people you could've ever meet. They welcomed everyone into their home and within minutes of talking to either of them you knew that they genuinely would do anything to help. Family was everything to them. This is a devastation loss to us and our community. Please help support Hailey (13) & Sophia (8) in this tragic time. Below is a news article for more information
A local couple were killed and their children seriously injured in a tragic crash in Volusia County in Florida on Sunday afternoon at 12:25 p.m.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Greg Moyers, 40, of Leadwood, who owns Moyers Muffler and Brakes in Park Hills, was driving with his family in the left lane on eastbound Interstate 4 in his 2007 Nissan. Charles King, 43, of New London, North Carolina, was also driving eastbound on I-4 in the center lane in his 2016 Ford Focus.
For an unknown reason King drifted into the left lane and the left side of his car struck the Moyers’ car on the right side causing them to leave the roadway and hit a tree.
Greg and his wife, Sarah Moyers, 39, who was the Desloge McDonalds store manager, were both pronounced dead at the scene by the medical examiner.
Their two children, Hailey Moyers, 13, and Sophia Moyers, 8, were both injured in the crash. As of Sunday evening Hailey was listed in serious condition and Sophia was in critical condition.
Both children were in Arnold Palmer Hospital in Florida. Everyone in the Moyers’ car were wearing their seatbelts. King was not injured in the crash.
The crash is still under investigation.
The family extends their greatest appreciation for your continued support as we now have surpassed the $60k mark. Have a blessed day and again THANK YOU!
Kenneth Stout, stop and think about your comment! Even if they had insurance, these children will know have to be taken in by family who I assume was not prepared to take on raising the two girls. If this gives them extra money even after insurance so what! I'm sure they all would rather have Greg and Sarah with them. Nobody will get rich here. I personally wouldn't care if they did. My heart goes out to the family. My prayers will be with you all
Kenneth Stout, are you unaware of how much it costs to raise one child let alone two, especially if they are not your own so you now add two to everything in your life including two college tuitions, two weddings. And as of now no one knows what long term medical or psychological needs they may have. $100k isn't going to last long (especially after they pay for two funerals) and unless they had a million dollar policy (which how many of us do) those raising them will put a lot of money out of pocket. I hope it goes a lot higher. Prayers to those two sweet girls and I hope they fully recover quickly. I think that's what you meant to say.
I was stuck in traffic for over three hours when this happened on the highway in front of my car in Deland. I knew it was bad when the helicopters were flying in. I'll keep praying for these poor kids and their other family members and friends who lost their loved one's.
I was on my way home from Orlando after this accident occurred. I knew it was bad when they closed the interstate. I don't know the family but after I found out what happened the family and girls have been on my mind. I hope and pray that the girls will find comfort with family and friends. RIP
Greg and Sarah were some of the best people you could be lucky enough to meet. I was lucky enough to be able to call them my friends/family . I'm still sick over this accident and what all the kids are going through. The fact that so many people are helping the family, and a lot of people who never knew them. Just shows me there are people out there like the Moyers and how they lived their lives. Thank you to all.
Kenneth Stout ... in a situation like this insurance is the least of their problems ... To even post something so insensitive is sickening . If you have a problem with the goal don't comment and don't donate .. I know first hand (unfortunately) how costly an unexpected funeral can be and it is 2 people .. These poor little girls have NO parents there is so much that will be needed .. aside from whoever is going to take these girls whose lives are forever changed .. (therapy, co pays ,omg I could go on ) I lost my little girl (age 11) on May 18,2015 ..she was crossing the street and was struck by an unyielding driver the costs were more than we could've ever imagined ..Thank God for the generosity of others Like this that helped us so much .. I am crying writing this b/c it is heartbreaking and my heart is already in pieces .. God Bless this family ,friends of theirs ... As a side note money is the LAST thing you think about so b/c of people like the ones that started this go fund me it makes it financially easier but nothing will bring those girls Mommy & Daddy back they need all the help they can get ...
This is so heartbreakingly tragic! I pray Jesus surrounds those precious girls and their family and friends in his living embrace. This will be so hard to get through. I wish I could donate. But I am unable to. But I will continue to pray for this family and their friends! As a mother of three I can honestly say with housing costs food health care all and living expenses 100k doesn't even begging to cover it until they are 18 and will have to get jobs while they go to college!
I would love to send(donate) my childrens music CD, Songs From The Heart, to the girls. Please private message me with a current mailing address and I will send one out to you. Here is my Facebook link and website, so you can see my CD and hear clips of the music on the website. Omg SO tragic, my heart goes out to this family and can't imagine what these two babies are going through and will always go through in life :'( insurance? Seriously right now? Wow! I have many things to say to that person but will be nice and just agree with previous comments....100k is NOTHING compared to what these parents, RIP, would have been able to provide (monetarily speaking not to mention the things money can't buy) in these children's lives if theirs wasn't cut so short. Praying for this whole family right now..
