Hi my name is Amanda Howard and my daughter is Abigail Howard. Abigail goes by Abby and she is a spunky beautiful little girl. What would you do if your child was diagnosed with a progressive degenerative disease with no cure? Would you sit and cry and dwell on it or would you pull yourself up and decide to not let it control you? My daughter was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension and it is a progressive degenerative disease with no cure. Idiopathic means the doctors can’t figure out what caused the disease. Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension is high pressure in the arteries of the lungs and the heart and it can cause right heart failure.
I am begging you to please find it in your heart to help our family. Since Abby’s diagnosis on 8/31/17 medical bills have continued to stack up. Abby’s on two different medications that have high co-pays. Abby’s also on 02 24/7 to help her out too. Abby was a little tired at diagnoses but it has gotten a lot worse. Abby’s 02 levels drop below 92 when she takes a shower so we need to get her a shower chair. The last week Abby’s 02 has only hung around 95 and she is on 2L of 02 at all times.
We go back this Friday 3/23 and she will have another echo and 6 minute walk test and I’m scared. Our daughter doesn’t have much energy anymore and she is very tired. We are also meeting with her Palliative Care Team on Friday. It has been very hard having my 13 year old daughter on Palliative Care.
We need help with Abby’s medications until her Medicaid finally kicks in it is still going thru the process. We also need help with hospital bills. Please I am asking you to help us if you are able too our daughter means so much to us. Abby is a beautiful 13 year old daughter.
Medical Bills:
$1,000 lung biopsy
$600 all her echos
$500 Bronchoscopy
$50 each trip to Omaha and that is at least once a month

$700 for Adcirca and Letairis
