With her reluctant yet prayerful blessing Donna has given me permission to set up a GoFundMe site for her. Donna has been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that has yet to be identified. There are over 100 autoimmune diseases and hers happens to be a more difficult illness to figure out. She has also been diagnosed with Stage 3 of 5 kidney disease which at stage 4 dialysis is required. The kidney disease at this point is irreversible, however, we serve a big non limiting God so excited to see what He does.
Her doctors here have done all they can and now she is heading to Mayo. Donna was accepted as a Rheumatology case and Mayo only accepts 10% of these doctor referrals. Praise God for that!
In May, Donna will be spending 5-7 days working with the Kidney specialist getting a biopsy to determine what is causing the failure.
In June, she is scheduled again for Rheumatology, Pulmonology, Internal Medicine and they added on Fibromyalgia after looking at her records for another 6-7 days.
Then in July, she will be there on July 2nd and 3rd for additional appointments. And who knows from there as they continue to add things on the schedule.
As a single woman, the finances have become more than just a burden. The medical costs, food, hotel stays, and gas are now in a crisis situation. Her need is urgent. She is also dealing with short term disability, long term disability, and FMLA to protect her job through this health crisis as her doctors have taken her down to 20 hours a week for a minimum of the next 12 weeks as she embarks on this journey through diagnosis and back to health.
