On Saturday 12 October 2013 I will be running my first half-marathon. I am completely unprepared and completely determined to finish. I have two goals: cross the finish line standing up and to raise money for a worthy charity.
I need your help! Autism effects 1 in 88 children. Many of these children are friends of mine. Thank you for donating to this incredible cause to help find a cure.
We did it! Camille ran her first 400 meter dash and I completed my half marathon strong. Thank you so much for supporting my dream of raising funds for Autism. Together we raised almost $800! I thought of you each step of the way.
Four days to go! I am tapering my workouts, a typical process to build up energy and that need to run that long distance on the day of the run. Many people find that the taper leads to irritability and crankiness. It's happening to me. As I look at the names of the wonderful people who have donated to Autism on my behalf I can feel a smile returning. Please help me not be cranky by donating to Autism on behalf of my first Half Marathon!
The US Government has shut down, but I have not! Eleven more days to go! Many thanks to all who have supported Autism. You are an inspiration for my training. I look forward to running each of the 13.1 miles for you!
