Shelby Lu rifle shot vet bills

My 13 year old Vizsla named Shelby Lou, a beloved member of our community and family, was shot through her gut Friday morning in her own back yard by an unknown assailant near the corner of Rattlesnake and Lower Colfax Roads in Cedar Ridge area in Grass Valley, California. I want the community to be aware of this senseless horrible incident, and help prevent anyone else's pet from getting gunned down in broad daylight, and risking the safety of the residents as well.
She had to have a kidney removed and laser repair to her ureter due to being shattered by at least a 30/30 high caliber bullet according to the Mother Lode veterinarian Tim Van Geem , who is very experienced with treating dog bullet wounds. She is currently at the Roseville MarQueen Animal Clinic in the ICU on oxygen and IV, which costs about $1600 each night. In addition , the Mother Lode Veterinary Hospital bill was just under $2500 the first day. We expect the total bill to be about $7000 if she makes it home tomorrow.

Reports have been filed with the police, and the State Fish and Wildlife warden was notified. The Deputy Sheriff has assigned the investigation to Animal Control. Wake up Nevada County! Shooting from public roads into private property towards occupied homes, and past horses, to kill an exceptionally friendly pet dog is just so wrong on so many levels. As a community we need to stop this outrageous criminal behavior!
