My name is Charity and I'm from Charlottesville, VA. Tay is my friend and coworker. She's a single mom, works full-time, and a full-time student. During the Unite The Right rally yesterday she was violently attacked when a white supremacist rammed her car as she was peacefully driving in downtown Charlottesville, VA. Tay's car was the silver car - target of his hate. Let's show Tay love over comes hate.

While her physical injuries may heal soon, her emotional and mental wounds will be a burden she carries for the rest of her life. The money she receives directly from this fund will be put towards her regular bills as she's going to be missing a lot of work (without pay), the medical bills that will be due before insurance reimburses her, not to mention a new vehicle. Even if you don't have much to give, any small donation ($5-$10) is a token of love. Every donation will show Tay kindness and support her and her family in this desperate time of need. Let love overcome hate.

I recently heard in the news that the white supremacists recruited and hired military veterans (specifically, those whom deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan) for security during the 12 August Unite the Right rally where James Alex Fields Jr viciously attacked peaceful protesters in Charlottesville, VA when he plowed through a crowd and into Tay's vehicle costing Heather Heyer her life, and injuring 19 others.

As an Army veteran (who has also deployed to Iraq), I found this news shocking and completely disgraceful.

This update is a plea to ALL military veterans and those still serving our great country to share this campaign on their Facebook pages, Twitter, Instagram, and all social media platforms to show the world that the we, as military veterans, do NOT stand with those neo-Nazis; we do not stand with the white supremacists.

To my brothers and sisters in arms - you heard the call to serve our country, now is the time to hear the call to stand against hate; it's as simple as sharing this campaign. If nothing more, send words of encouragement to Tay.

Last night Tay's sister, Micah, performed at the Come Together concert where proceeds benefited victims of the tragic Unite the Right rally. Despite the trauma she ensued with Tay when their car was rammed into, she did a phenomenal performance. Micah is a very talented, beautiful, and strong young woman. You can see her performance here: https://www.facebook.com/charity.phillips.52/posts/10155571740221585

Micah also has a GoFundMe campaign, set up by her cousin. Here's the link more information on this effort. https://www.gofundme.com/victim-of-the-hate-crime-in-va#

We will also be attending the Slánú Charlottesville concert on 25 August at Cville coffee where ALL donations will be given to the victims (they are covering there own costs). https://www.facebook.com/events/1841934129452726??ti=ia

Thank you again for all the love, support, words of encouragement, and generosity!!
