Blaha's Mortgage & Living Expenses

Story

This fundraiser came about through a suggestion from one of my student's mom after reading information I recently shared on Facebook about my parent's situation. She was very interested in giving to help my parents and thought others may want to give as well. We are praying that many can give, and God chooses to use friends and family to help relieve an incredible financial burden on my parents at this time. My dad has been having Hemiplegic Migraine "like" symptoms for the last 23 years. I say HM "like" symptoms because he does not currently have a diagnosis. But the attacks he has been having for years look exactly like the description of this rare neurological disease. About a year and a half again, he had an attack that left him unable to continue holding his regular job as a computer program designer. He received short-term disablility until it ended. He applied for long-term disability, but the doctor's reports he sent in weren't enough to prove he qualifies for disability.  My mom has to be my dad's care taker and is unable to work outside of the home. So for almost a year, my parents have been without an income. They have hired lawyers to fight their case, but due to incomplete doctor's reports, it has been a challenge to get enough information to prove my dad should get disability. Even if he does qualify, it may take from 12-18 months for him to even start receiving checks. They have used retirement money, tax returns, and credit cards to get by since then.  On September 23 their house will be going under forecloser unless God provides the funds to pay for their last 4 mortgage payments that are overdue. This fundraiser is to give friends and family a way of help relieve the incredible financial burden on my parents right now. It is intended to help pay for their 4 overdue mortgage payments by September 23 so they don't go into foreclosure, pay off their $5,000 credit card bill that they have accumulated paying for basic living expenses, and providing them with the funds to cover their living expenses till the end of the year. My dad was overwhelmed and without words to express how much he appreciated this vision I have for raising these funds for them. He was close to tears thinking of how much he would feel relieved to not have the burden of these bills and be able to provide for my mom.  To show what a selfless man he is, his biggest concern is to provide for my mom.  I'm praying that God lays it on many of your hearts to give to this great cause. We are trusting that God will sovereignly provide just what they need in his time and way....as he always has. Thank you for your prayers and support through this time. It's still a long road ahead, but your gifts can give them some hope as they stay faithful in these trials.
