His Loving wife and son have been his Full time caregivers after the family suffered a traggic car accident in 2008.
7 years ago a drunk driver caused the loss of 2 of his Children and brand new grandson and Demetrius sustained a traumatic Brain injury in the accident.
He sustained a skull fracture and a subsequent stroke that left him in a coma for 5 months .
Upon Awaking from his coma to learn of the loss of his treasured daughter and handsome son along with his newest member of the family grandson Kayden was almost too much to bare, but the immeasurable love shared between this survivor and his wife and son Christopher (who also shares the same birthday Aug 8) was the fuel that fed the intense fire to continue on the battle to overcome the injuries and the overwhelming heart ache of a loss no one should ever have to endure.
His incredible strength and determination were evidenced in his own battle to teach himself to. speak again, and then to complete the challenge on his own terms rise from the ashes and walk again.
