Meet my daughter Morgan, a fun, smart, caring, softball playing kid who loves the outdoors, just graduated 8th grade and up until now has been completely healthy! Until last Monday that is....she discovered a large lump on the side of her stomach pushing out and was hurting her. Tuesday she went to the Dr, then the ER where they did a couple tests. Immediately they knew it wasn't good and called to the CT Children's cancer center who we saw the very next morning.....all bad news since then and our world has completely shattered. How can my daughter have stage 4 kidney cancer that has already spread to other areas?? How is it possible. Chemo is starting and I will not be able to work much longer which will make it extremely difficult to provide financially for our bills, to be able to move to our own home where she can feel at home in her own space while going through this long road ahead. I am sure soon all the medical bills will start rolling in and piling up too...I can only imagine. I'm hoping for any help at all during this extremely difficult time in our lives. Thank you so much for reading our story ❤️

So since the last update I thought I would share that Morgan has safely had the kidney and the tumor removed, surgery took over 10 hours due to complications and multiple surgeons being called In to help. A day and a half in the PICU. She then picked up an infection while being in the hospital which had us there for 10 days total! Called c.diff and can be pretty deadly to people with one kidney and weakened immune systems...
Well after taking the 10 days of antibiotics, having 4 days of radiation so far and 3 chemo drugs in one day....the c.diff is back and hitting her harder than the first time..
So she is in the hospital again and will be for at least 4 days. She also tested positive for norovirus.
Our poor little warrior continues to drop weight, she is now down to 98 lbs since her admission via the ER on Friday. I can only imagine that since she can’t keep anything down that she will only be dropping more. Which is horrible for her recovery and for being able to continue to fight this.
We now will be delaying the rest of her radiation this week for sure. Just hoping she can start to eat soon....
Everyone please keep praying for us on this new treatment and thank you for keeping Morgan and us in your prayers ❤️

So since the last update I thought I would share that Morgan has been able to stay out of the ER and has not had any more fevers since having her blood transfusion! She made the race decision to shave her head! And is rocking it in my opinion
We had scans over a week ago, which showed slight improvement but not enough, so today we start a much more intense treatment plan that puts us at CCMC 5 days a week and 6 hours plus a day.
Let's hope she can handle these 2 new chemo's she will receive that are supposed to lower her blood counts and such.
Everyone please keep praying for us on this new treatment and thank you for keeping Morgan and us in your prayers ❤️

So since the last update I thought I would share that Morgan has been able to stay out of the ER and has not had any more fevers since having her blood transfusion! Sadly she is losing lots of hair over the last few days as we knew would happen but since it hadn't really happened yet we thought....maybe it won't happen to her.
Tomorrow is the day we have been waiting for, Chemo number 6 and her scans to see if that monsterous tumor and cancerous lung nodules have shrunk! Then we meet with the surgeon and Oncologist to look over the scans tomorrow as well! It's going to be a super long day for us at the hospital but praying all is good news!
Goodnight everyone and thank you for keeping Morgan and us in your prayers ❤️

For those of you following Our families journey with Morgan here is our latest news. She had to go last weekend to the ER both on Saturday for a fever and Sunday because her hemoglobin dropped even more than it was on Saturday and she had to stay overnight to have her first blood transfusion. She went this past Thursday for Chemo treatment number 4 and the aggressive chemo they have been giving her only got scarier because this new type requires a heart health med prior.....hoping and praying it doesn't damage her heart because it's one of the common side effects of it. Sadly Morgan has started to lose her hair but she's in great spirits telling her me she will rock each ball cap and no longer needs to worry about a bad hair day or shaving her legs! Always a positive in every situation righttttt?! Another blow is Morgan will not be able to start school with her friends. ! We know it's for the best but know how much she was hoping to start her freshman year at BEHS with her friends. Please continue to keep Morgan and us in your prayers. Praying the scans for early September will show shrinkage of tumor and will lead the way to her much needed surgery #MorgansWarriors
