My name is Lee Crooks I am a former Manchester City defender. After my football career I went on to join the British Military and served Queen and Country in Afghanistan in 2012.
Over the festive period this year it is my intention to sleep on the streets to help raise some money to help some of the 7000 ex service personnel who now find themselves homeless with little or no support. My goal is simple I want to try and help change this.
I've created this page in the hope I can raise £1500 which will allow me to start to working with some of the ex service personnel by taking them off the streets, supporting them in hostels over the coming months with the end goal of supporting them back into permanent accommodation, returning to work and ultimately getting there lives back on track.
I am lucky that I have a unique story behind me to be able to attract press and spread the word.
I am hopeful that I can generate support from numerous individuals and businesses to ensure that I can achieve my long term goal which is to support as many of the ex service personnel that I can.
The amount I want to raise won't fix the problem but i have to start somewhere it will give me the platform I need to begin to help some ex service personnel who really do need our help.
These ex service personnel gave us our freedom by risking their lives they deserve some help in return...please help where you can and spread the word amongst friends, family and colleagues.
