‘Telling Tales’ is a collection of images, memories and insights into the significance, and relevance of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

In 2018 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras is turning 40. 1978 was a challenging time for the LGBTIQ community. We find ourselves, 40 years later in an equally challenging time. 

I have taken 40 portraits that profile lives of our LGBTIQ community. Each person was invited to share their stories. These people are familiar, famous, unsung heroes, local and international sharing their experiences. Their personal accounts are documented with an intimate portrait. 

Each story unique and important.

I've met some incredible people from all walks of life putting this book together. Their stories need to be told for the LGBTIQ community at large - past, present and future. 

Now, more than ever, peoples voices need to be heard.

For this to happen I need your support to help publish 'Telling Tales' – 40 Fabulous Years of Floats, Fun, Fantasy and Fortitude (of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras) are seeking financial support.

'Telling Tales' is a 100 page hard cover book commemorating  40 years of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

Integrating a diverse cross section of the LGBTIQ community and providing a platform to celebrate our most public facing platform – the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, 'Telling Tales' presents the human face and gives a voice to the people who have worked, supported, created for, depended on, marched in, lived, and loved it.

I need to raise $10,000 to produce and distribute 'Telling Tales' during the 2018 Mardi Gras Festival. 

Any donation (big or small) is sought. It is with a humble heart that we request your support for 'Telling Tales' and to help us raise the necessary funds.
