About Us
We Work Every Day In The Heart of the Creative Capital of Rhode Island!
We are a Providence, RI owned and operated business - earning our revenue through our regular design work and Social Media Marketing.
We are independent.
We are grateful! To date, since 2009, we have been funded by a few generous donations for these projects on GoFundMe and others.
As a completely independent FREE designer association we have not relied on ANY public funding or grants for almost 10 years.

Business Description & Vision:
The Providence Design District known as ProvDesignDistrict.com is a growing cooperative working on behalf of all local design businesses.
Membership is inclusive, free and covers all aspects of commercial design to establish Providence as an international center for regional research and design.
Design District ToursPLAN FOR SUCCESS
Creating employment in the Providence area for designers by establishing a dual resource for designers to find work and businesses to find quality design.
Background & Planning Process
As Communications Director of the Massachusetts Restaurant Association (MRA) I helped unite many small businesses through effective marketing and PR recognition.
As a result, membership grew 20% and our association website visits exploded with 80% growth through consistent communication campaigns with the public and media, thus creating long term success.
Our plan is to re- create the same successful results here in the Rhode Island Design Industry. Description: The Providence Design District (PDD) is already underway but is in need of this Rhode Island Foundation Grant to keep it going. www.provdesigndistrict.com.

"To support, promote and enhance the commercial design industry in Providence and Rhode Island for the benefit of both our members and the public."
Components
Components of the Design District Project Include: Membership, Job Placement, News, Member Directory, Seminars, Workshops, Events and PR.
We are a year-round organization to promote all commercial design related businesses; to provide employment opportunities and to create a new network of designers starting at the core of downtown Providence.
Next Phase
The next phase is to expand the association statewide creating a larger success throughout Rhode Island.
Description of Innovation: A "Design District" is an innovative and "Outside-the-Box" approach because it works with existing design businesses to boost networking, jobs and revenue.
Providence & Rhode Island: New Jobs & Economic
Benefits
Our goal is to create a business to business network as well as a long-term employment resource for designers in the State of Rhode Island. This has a potential for great public benefit and will put Providence and Rhode Island on the map as the True Creative Capital!

In 2009 we proposed ... "With growing interest in annual conferences like TED - Technology, Entertainment and Design and local events like the Business Innovation Factory's BIF Conference, the goal of The Providence Design District will be to present our concept to the design industry and the public."
The Providence Design District is responsible for concieving the modern Design Week celebrated in Providence each year.
The funds raised here will enable us to build our FREE designer association and create a platform to encourage exceptional design innovation, creativity, growth and jobs within Providence and The State of Rhode Island.
