Get Better Butchy!
$32,867 of $100,000 goal
You can make a pledge here on GoFundMe. Understand that GoFundMe does charge some processing fees.
Another option is an amazing Colorado-based non profit which is basically hockey players helping hockey players.
DawgNation does not charge any fees and has already pledged $7500 in matching donations!
In order to stay up to speed, we have a FB Group Set up here:
I am learning that many folks do not have facebook so if you would like to stay abreast of things keep an eye out on this page and I will post updates as they come in.
Here are the details that I am aware of as of 12:30 MT on Saturday.
On Friday, March 18, prior to the second WCHA Final Five semifinal between Michigan Tech and Ferris State, WCHA official Butch Mousseaux slipped on the ice during warm-ups and hit his head on the ice.
The intention of this GoFundMe page is to coordinate the efforts and generosity of all of the people who have been touched by Butch and to raise money to offset costs associated to travel, medical bills, etc. for his family.
This morning, the WCHA released this official statement on Mousseaux:
Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) referee Oliver "Butch" Mousseaux sustained head injuries stemming from a fall to the ice during warm-ups prior to the second WCHA Final Five semifinal game of Friday, March 18 at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Mich. He was transported to Mercy Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, where he remains in critical condition.
I wanted to send a note of thanks to all that supported our family after Butch's accident in March. These past several months certainly have not been easy, but because of you and the incredible outpouring of generosity and kindness, many burdens have been significantly lessened. Please know how truly blessed and grateful we are for your love and friendship.
While we miss Butch terribly, the kids and I are continuing to move forward knowing that he is forever watching over and guiding us along the way.
The blessings of peace,
the beauty of hope,
the spirit of love,
the comfort of faith.
May these be your gifts this holiday season.
Macaire, SJ, Abbie and Olivia
We are officially shutting down this GoFundMe campaign and all donations efforts should be routed through DawgNation.

“Warriors are not what you think of as warriors. The warrior is not someone who fights, because no one has the right to take another life. The warrior, for us, is one who sacrifices himself for the good of others.
His task is to take care of the elderly, the defenseless, those who can not provide for themselves, and above all, the children, the future of humanity.”
UPDATE: PLEASE READ

It takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, and a day to love them, but it takes an entire lifetime to forget them.
My thoughts and prayers are with you Macaire as you and the children grieve the loss of your beloved Butch. May God help you through these tough times.
Rest in peace Butch, and may your memory be eternal!
