Kendall's Cochlear Implant Upgrade

Donation protected
Hello my name is Kendall Miller. I am 22 years old and I have been deaf my whole life. I was fortunate enough to get my first cochlear implant surgery when I was 5 years old. The equipment I am currently using is out dated and considered obsolete. I am unable to get replacement parts for it, so if any part were to break I would no longer be able to hear. I have been through several jobs where they did not work well with my disability so I am currently on disability and I was assured that all my equipment would be paid for through my Medicaid insurance. In January Medicaid passed a bill saying that if you are over the age of 21 then they will not cover you anymore. It should not matter about my age, this is something I have to have to be a productive member of society. My current hearing is around 30% and it is very hard for me to participate fully in conversations, weather it is around friends, family or out in public. Most people don't understand how cochlear implants work. They say " Well, why don't you just turn it up?" With my cochlear implant all the sound is going in at one wave length. So turning it up will only amplify the noise. Out in public it is hard for me to block out background noise, even the smallest of sounds mix in with conversations and it is hard to stay fully connected in conversation with people. This new upgrade (naida CI) has so many technological advancements that my current cochlear implant does not have. The Naida CI has the ability to connect Bluetooth so I would be able to talk on the phone with friends and family. It's battery life is rated at 8 hours, where my current batteries only last a couple hours. It also has the ability to block out a lot of the background noise so I would be able to focus on conversations without being left out. With the Naida CI  my hearing would go up to 77%!

if anyone wanted to see all the spefications on it.
It is just a matter of time before my equipment breaks and I will become isolated. This upgrade would mean the world to me.
I am asking for $26,000 because it cost between 10 and 13 thousand per ear, that includes two batteries for each, charging cables, and the main sound processor.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated!
Please share this to help me hear better!
Bless you all for taking the time to read this.
Thank you to my family and my amazing boyfriend Michael Woodham for making all this possible.
