Kirkersville Shooting Victims
Donation protected
On May 12th 2017 at 7:45 in the morning a horrible tragedy occurred. A man with a familiar face whom we, the people of Pine Kirk Care Center, knew all too well. He broke into our lock down facility, taking not only two of our family members we were so close to, but also our jobs, our daily lives, and our sense of comfort.
The news did not mention the seven victims who were also in the building. Who had to see and hear the monstrous events unfold. Who had no training on what to even do in the situation and who feared for their lives for what felt like an eternity.
It has been four weeks since then, we are trying to cope with what we have been given. From PTSD, anxiety, and depression to crying for our loss. The counseling and medical bills keep coming, but yet we have nothing. We are not getting paid time off or any compensation to help with the cost of living like our medical bills and taking care of our families. We have been given this ongoing fear for our daily lives.
