A life is a life and an act of kindness is an act of kindness regardless of the gender race and species. For two years, I have been volunteering in northern Greece at a refugee camp as well as throughout the area supporting families and creating platforms to place families in apartments. Everyday as I drive from the camp to the small village of Polykastro, I see stray dogs and cats along the side of the road. No food, water or care. Along with help from my friends I have facilitated moving the mothers with their babies and getting them to a safe place. The greek people I'm collaborating with have been lovely and are assisting us with translations as well as the placement. We have several goals:Get the puppies out of the camp and into a dog hotel, find a home and treat them for their medical issues, (we've taken out 25 out of the country so far), organize passports and required items to fly out of the country, place either an oil or tick and flea collar on as many stray animals as possible and feed them daily. With your help, we can make a dent in this ever growing problem. We’re working together with some local vets and a dog hotel to ensure the animals have food, proper medicine and the care that they deserve. Everyone and everything in the world no matter what deserves the love. The photo shows two puppies we saved last year. Please share and spread the word. In addition, we have a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1522874704409095/http://paypal.me/KayraM

Tomorrow is the last day in Polykastro area. Tomorrow we have one day in Thessaloniki, after Kayra must travel to Athens and Bruni must get back to her family in Germany.
We’ve been able to assess the situation here with the animals, feed them and get our sweet Lucky all ready for her flight to Canada. Also another pup will be leaving to Germany in the next days.
Please feel free to leave any amount as we will leave a stock of food for the animals in Nea Kavala before we leave. Any amount is helpful.
Thank you for your support!
Love,
Kayra and Bruni

Our lovely Bruni Birl is in Polykastro for the next few days taking care of our sweet animals, but unfortunately the pallet of aid from our German friends hasn’t arrived yet. She’s purchasing from the local Greek shops to get everyone fed, but we need extra support this month.
Every month we each contribute 150€ of our own money and add any donations to the amount to use for food, medicine and accommodations. This over 1 1/2 years and counting.
Any small amount would be greatly appreciated to keep all these lovelies healthy and happy.
Thank you!

We have 8 new puppies in northern Greece. We have over 20 dogs and dozens of cats in Nea Kavala camp that we‘re feeding over 1 1/2 years. The people in the camp can go to a certain caravan and get dog, or cat food for their pets.
We’re working on sterilizations now as well, but they’re costly.
Bruni Birl and I are paying a local shop for all the food for the animals and Maritta Gudrun is taking it to the camp. It’s a huge challenge at the moment for us, but we‘re sticking with it to make sure the animals are taken care of. We also send money every month for the cats of Chios.
Right now we also need something for the animals as they have fleas.
Anyone that would like a new family member, please think about the stray animals in Greece.
Unfortunately many are given poison lately, especially in Kilkas.
We would love to find some homes for the many we have, pay for the food, medicine, sterilizations, and the costs of the dog hotel where we have 11!!!!!!
Any amount is appreciated!
Thank you in advance!

These are the sweet animals we‘re trying to take care of.
No homes, no constant care, but we have some very lovely people in the camp that are now watching over them.
Bruni Birl and I have paid a local shop for the dog/cat food and this can sustain them.
We have some great veterinarians and our friend the dog trainer helping us as well.
It’s such a challenge at times, but we’ve really seen some amazing connections with new families abroad, medical recoveries and happy animals.
Today I was in 3 villages visiting the animals. Sometimes just sitting down to pet the animals. They’re in dire need of love.
Please consider donating for our food expenses.
Thank you! Efkaristo! Danke schön! Shukran!
