California ghetto carping

California ghetto carping.A lot of people always ask us what California ghetto Carping means to us, then followed by a why the word ghetto?...

Simple, the reason for the name is the background from where we come from, who we used to be, and where we decide to fish. Location, location, location! That’s where it all comes down to. (ghetto! ) such a derogative word yet so widespread with negativity and labeled as something that’s not worth looking at or even helping… that’s where we come in!

Then reason, why we decide to go there is because we want to teach the local kids that are used to seeing violence, corruption, drugs etc. a way to get away from it all and enjoy a day out… without having to worry about anything but what bait to use after the first one is fallen apart, something they can do that is productive instead of destructive. Also, we teach these little kids about catch and release and show them that by catching one today they could eventually catch it again three times bigger than the first time and let others experience that same feeling that they did when they first hooked that monster fish. Catch and release is something that isn't well accustomed here in the states but in other parts like the U.K that’s all they do, because by letting them go again u get to let that species of fish thrive and multiply also by them releasing eggs other fish eat portions of the eggs as a source of protein and part of its diet fish such as bass, bluegill, tilapia, catfish, all these fish and more need these big fish to do this every time mating season comes, So by letting them go everything is kept in balance.

Now to give a little better insight on the things we would like to accomplish in regards to teaching the kids how to fish and how to properly hold carp, or any fish we first catch a fish sense we aim for carp we show them proper care how to hold the carp, how to place the carp on the mat, and finally how long they can stay out of water to make sure everything is kept as quick as possible to reduce the stress levels of the carp and insure the safety of the fish when we return it back into the water. After we show them all these things and we see they really enjoy what we do we give them a medium action rod with an adequate reel to assure them they can fish for years to come. That’s where we run into problems, sense we have all budgets we can’t give away rods and reels most of the times and really takes an impact on us! Because we really want to see them have the same pleasure we have, by doing what we love doing, we wouldn’t want anything else in the world besides seeing a big carp come out from the depths of the lake and then hearing a small little voice say, "hey dad I want to do that to”.

Help us make the (ghetto) turn into (better!) these kids deserve this and much more so here we are California ghetto carping attempting to do something about it! But it’s like they say Rome wasn’t built in one day. We are asking the people to help us on our road to give away rods and reels to help these little kids live a better life doing something productive. Help us help them, by funding and supporting us with what we are attempting to achieve any contribution is firmly welcomed.  We would also like to establish a couple more things for the future plans of C.G.C which consist of planning derbies for the kids, giving them tackle boxes and also showing them how to do varies knots and bait presentation, like we established every contribution gets us that much closer to aware goal. To help the kids have a better and more productive day in the simplest of forms…. Fishing!

One last thing we are in search of any sponsors out there that are interested in what we are doing and attempting to accomplish so, please feel free to contact us at any time thank you in advance.
