Severely Injured 12 Wk Puppy Found

URGENT! This precious little 12 week old puppy was found dumped in the bushes off of HWY 200 behind Sonny's BBQ in Ocala, FL. She was brought in to the Humane Society of Marion County by a Good Samaritan desperately searching for urgent medical care, cradled in his arms, her injured leg wrapped due to a severe leg injury. As Dr. Albano and the medical staff cut away the bandage - they knew the injury was severe - the strong odor of necrosis was apparent. The incredible staff immediately rushed her back to assess her condition. As they cut away her wrapping they discovered her right front leg was severed, completely stripped down to the bone - severe infection and necrosis present. Her precious 12.5 lb. body covered in fleas, suffering from malnutrition, and in desperate need of urgent medical care. We can only imagine the the immense pain, suffering, and fear this precious life has endured. The staff were completely shocked she survived such an injury. Now named "Ms D", named after the late Ms Frances, a dedicated volunteer for the HSMC who lost her life in a car accident exactly one year ago. Ms D was stabilized and prepared for surgery. Immediately they analyzed her Lab work, X-rays, gave her medications, debridement of the affected area, and prepared her for amputation of the remaining part of her limb began. Without this urgent surgery she would not survive. The HSMC and Ms D desperately need your financial donations to help cover her medical expenses and surgery.
