Help Keep Vasa Park Of IL Alive

Thank you for taking the time to show interest in our park.
Vasa park is a beautiful (Scandinavian based) 25 acre park located in South Elgin Illinois right along the Fox River. She is home to hundreds of oak trees, birds, butterflies, bees, squirrels, deer, geese, and plenty of other wildlife. We have a heritage garden that attracts bees and butterflies to help them flourish without worrying about termination.
We are traditionally a Scandinavian Park and hold festivals, events that highlight our heritage as well as rented private events. We are also hoping to add in free events for our community.
She ( our park ) is trying her best to thrive in a world of busy people and cement giants. She survives with the help of relentless volunteers and donations from people who want to see her survive.
Unfortunately we do need a few repairs. Such as a new roof for her pavilion ($15,000) or a new pavilion all together ($75,000). We also are hoping to add a deck onto one of our park buildings for handicap visitors. ($5,000). Our care takers home (who volunteer to live there year round) needs major repairs or a new small home all together ($15,000). These are the major expenses at the moment, but adding on yearly costs and repairs along the way adds up and takes its financial tolls.
Last year through donations and fund raisers we were able to add in a gazebo, and a new children's play area that our wonderful local boy scout troop took on as special project!
As a group and the voice of the park and all the wildlife that makes Vasa their home.. we ask for donations. Every little bit helps. We know that not everyone can volunteer or you are too far away but possibly she has a special place in your heart... so we ask for donations to keep her running. Donations to make repairs and keep her healthy.
Please don't let the world turn another beautiful place into another shopping mall. There's no beauty in that. Please save a little piece of serenity. If you are close by we can always use the helping hand if you are able.
Without trees and sanctuaries like this for wildlife it will all disappear. Without places to highlight different cultures (in our case Scandinavian) traditions start to disappear.
We beg you to not let that happen. Our whole heart is dedicated to this park. I hope you can find it in yours to help us keep her around for future generations.
