The SALEM NH RAMS FOOTBALL 8th GRADE TEAM won the New England Regional Championship game on November 21st. This is the first time since the inception of the Rams football program that a team has won! We desperately need your help to send the team to Florida to compete in the American Youth Football National Championship games on Dec 4 – 12th. We only have 2 weeks to raise funds to send all 28 players to Florida!
These 28 players are hard-working, dedicated, and talented young athletes who have participated in youth football for most of their young lives. The American Youth Football (“AYF”) is a nationally recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit youth sports organization. During the course of their 2015 season, the team went 8-0 in their regular season. They successfully won their NH State Title on November 1st finishing with a 10-0 record. The team continued to work hard during their post season. In the Regional Quarter-Final game they beat North Providence RI Jets (25-14). They moved on to the Regional Semi-Finals in CT. The team continued their winning streak beating the highly favored Waterbury CT Knights in the last 2 minutes of the game (32-26) to secure their spot in the New England Regionals championship game. On Nov 21st, the team competed against the undefeated Worcester MA Cowboys and won a hard fought, come from behind, battle (22-20). The win has deemed this team the best 8th grade AYF football team in New England. They will go to the National Championships in Orlando, Florida to compete against teams from across the country and represent not only our Town of Salem, State of NH, but New England football. This is an experience they will never forget.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for these kids however the cost is not free. The team is responsible for their airfare, hotel, meals and all out-of-pockets expenses during their 7 day stay. Our hope is to help raise funds to subsidize some of the cost involved. We are looking for monetary donations.
