Memory Making For Super Ko

Donation protected
At 30 weeks my beautiful twins Kohan and Chet were born weighing just over 1kg each. They were tiny and so perfect ❤ Kohan was born with a severe heart condition and all of his organs on the wrong side of his body. At four days old Ko deteriorated and needed gut malrotation surgery. Two weeks later Ko almost passed away from forming an obstructed bowel and required urgently further surgery. Despite multiple calls in the middle on the night to be by Kos side because the doctors didn't believe he would make it, Ko fought on. He fought to get to 3kg to be eligible for his first open heart surgery! After four months I got to bring him home to be with his twin brother! It was magical. Ko thrived at home where he belonged ❤ On the 28th February 2016 Ko came back to hospital for his second scheduled open heart surgery. He quickly declined during recovery and over the month following became worse and worse as the doctors tried to work out what was happening. Kos second heart surgery had failed and he required third open heart surgery on the 31st March. Ko had huge fluid losses over the next three months and faced complication after complication. A two week predicted stay turned into 9 months straight in hospital. I fought so hard to get Ko out of hospital and in October I succeeded. Ko loved being at home, he thrived and was so extremely happy. Ko started vomiting uncontrollably throughout the day and night and it was questioned that Ko had pressure on the brain or a brain tumour. Today I found out tests done showed Ko has had multiple strokes over his stay last year. Two weeks ago Ko had major stomach surgery to try an stop the vomiting which seems to have worked! On Monday we had a meeting with a lot of teams to discuss heart results found in tests conducted at the same time as the brain tests... we were given the devastating news that Ko will only survive a further 6-12 months as long as he doesn't arrest before. Every part of me is broken. I feel my world crumbling around me but I'm trying my best to find my super human strength to fighting on like I have done for the past two years. As a team we will fight until the last second. So now it's about making 100 years of memories in a short space of time. I want to show Ko all that I possibly can ❤
