TOM DOWDAL Cremation

Donation protected

My husband passed away after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis and some other illnesses. Pulmonary fibrosis steals your ability to breathe. At the end of his life even though he on oxygen had a hard time going from the bedroom to the living room. Tom never wanted to be a burden to anyone. We had a plan. He was going to donate his body to science to a teaching Hospital. He wanted doctors to learn about this disease. He wanted to help others. Long before he got pulmonary fibrosis he was a organ donor. He had insurance. Once he got sick he wanted to make a difference. The insurance so we thought it was no longer needed. Tom no longer meet the criteria to donate his body. And that's really sad because Dr call him an anomaly all the time. And I think they could have learned from him. That's what he wanted. I am left without my husband and with no way to pay for his cremation. It would destroy him to think he was a burden. Tom and I were together for 40 years and two days. A lot of those years at the beginning were hard. But we believed in our vowels every time one of us was about to go over the cliff and call it quits the other one would step in and say no we can make it. Tom was recovering alcoholic he was sober for 30 years. We lost our daughter Brandy last April. That loss effects parents it's something you got over. I think it affected his health and we'll never know. Now I find myself in a position I didn't expect. The man that I love with all my heart and soul is still at the hospital in is the mortuary. I'm doing the best I can I'm raising Brandy's children. They just lost their father also. They are my priority. My husband I need help. I will somehow pay everyone back Tom was a good. He loves our kids Shawn, Tomi, Brandy and Ryan. To his grandkids and one great-grandson he was Grumpy. A name our oldest granddaughter gave him when she couldn't say grandpa. He loves being grumpy. Chelsea, Samantha and Debbie he always called them Grumpy's girls. Randy his man.....Then Came Shawn Patrick he was so proud. And then came little kids Kylee, Jasmine, Emma and Rylee. He loves his kids and grandkids so much. Always considered our daughter-in-law Chrissie to be a daughter. He was so proud of all these people. So very proud. I have a lady that I am working with . She seems very kind. God bless you for anything you can do will not be forgotten
