WITH LOVE FROM NEW YORK

Our friend, Mario Basantes, was in New Orleans with his wife to celebrate Mardi Gras and his birthday. Unfortunately, a drunk driver smashed into Mario, one of the first ones hit and has suffered the most serious injuries. Mario is still in the hospital unable to walk as a result of that accident along with other numerous injuries. He sustained three fractures to his pelvic, multiple internal injuries, stitches, separated shoulder, damaged lower back, and head trauma. Mario is a kind wonderful soul who volunteers to help those in need. Now he needs your help. We love him dearly and feel helpless here in New York because we can’t be with him. We are asking you to donate to Mario anything you can. He will not be able to work for at least a year or more. He will need to be in a long term facility with extensive rehabilitation. Mario will need to be transported back home however for the mean time will have to reside in New Orleans where the house will be ramped, have hospital bed and wheelchair. His apartment in New York cannot be fitted for a wheelchair and as he cannot work he will need money to pay his bills and help support his family in any way he can. He also has a daughter who is going to college this year for nursing. Please open your heart for this wonderful person who has always been so giving.
