Please help the Messer Family as they watch their 17 year old son Jason fight for his life.Jason and three friends were hiking at Hanging Rock State Park in North Carolina on February 18th when Jason slipped and fell off the cliff. Authorities estimate the drop to be at least 50-75 feet. The other three boys ran down to the base of the hill. Once there, one of them was able to scale the wall and reach Jason where he lay unconscious and bleeding.Rescue personnel rushed to the scene, but due to the difficult terrain and pending nightfall, it was three hours before Jason was removed from the mountain and air lifted by helicopter to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. He now lies in ICU with a broken sternum and multiple breaks and fractures throughout his body. Additionally, he is suffering from very serious head trauma and swelling on his brain. The Messers are a close knit, Christian family who rest in the knowledge and peace that their sovereign God is in control of their circumstances. Jason's parents, Ben and Stephanie, as well as Jason's older brother Samuel and younger brother Gabe, are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and prayer support from the world wide community and are very humbled and grateful. But this comes with a heavy financial burden to the Messers. Hospital bills and other costs will add up, and it's nothing that anyone could anticipate. As friends of the Messers, we are setting up this Go Fund Me page to help alleviate this burden. They have so much on their plate right now, we would love if this family didn't also have to worry about the finances to pay for this excellent care they are receiving at Wake Forest Baptist.Thank you for reading Jason's Story. And please, if you feel led to help financially, donate to their cause. We are setting the goal at $25,000, but we will be grateful for however the Lord provides. We love them, and are praying for a full and speedy recovery for Jason. If you cannot give at this time, thank you for your prayers. It means everything to the Messers and their family and friends.
