Based on "scholastic merit, maturity, and strength of character," I was nominated by my school district to attend the prestigious Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, DC! During my time in the summer program, I will "explore our nation’s most important monuments and memorials and discover how being a good leader not only requires courage, but also brings with it the opportunity to make lasting, positive changes! Important success skills in leadership, such as teamwork, communication, collaboration, and problem solving, will be strengthened as (I) learn about leadership through the lens of American history. Added confidence and motivation to apply (myself) as a leader will help (me) make positive choices in (my) daily life, face future challenges, and ensure (my) success in middle school, high school, and beyond."
I especially can't wait to travel to DC to learn public speaking and work with other kids from across America on a student-lead "Change" project!
Donate and I'll be sure to post public shout outs on my blog: Anirific! I've got a lot of ideas to show my appreciation.
For instance, I'll make a cardboard paper doll for the highest sponsor, so I can carry them with me on this adventure. I'll take some silly photos with my cardboard buddy on the airplane, at the hotel, and with me and my new friends! These funny photos will be posted on my blog and my mom will share them on her social media accounts to recognize the highest sponsor's generosity and express our gratitude. I'll write and perform a song with some help from my dad for the people who donate $250! ... And, for people who donate $100, I will send you a postcard with a heartfelt note (send your mailing address to my email) from DC. If you donate lower, you'll get a shout-out on my blog!
Anyway, the total cost of the program is $2,200.00, not including airfare. Any donation will be much appreciated. I feel honored to have been nominated by my teacher, my school, and then my district! I was the new girl in school which presents its challenges. I'm proud of myself and everything that I've accomplished. I'm also thankful that everyone embraced me so warmly and wants to help me reach my dreams of being a kind leader.
Invest in the future. Invest in me! Together, we can work for a better, fairer country and world.
Thank you in advance for your donations!
