Gaelic Adventures of Jen & Meg
Donation protected
Two girls. 24,000 hours of higher acadamia, zero hours of culutural global awareness.
The two of us have spent many hours in classrooms, libraries, and coffee shops, focusing hard on our academics. In all this time, however, we failed to get a larger picture as to what the world is really like. With graduation looming, we realize the lack of opportunity in our 'youth' to ever go on an adventure such as this again, due to time and money restraints.
With your help, this June we will travel around Scotland experiencing their culture firsthand. We will backpack across the Highlands, explore the Emerald Isles, and have a generally free experience, away from academic society (finally). Our plan is to travel loosely and cheap by taking buses, hiking it and staying in bothy's.
While we do plan on doing everything as inexpensively as possible by camping and cooking our own food, Mother Nature is proving that to be difficult. Because of the relative warmness of Scotland over the past few months the mosquitos/ midges are worse than ever, making camping and sleeping wild a struggle. Any small donations will go towards hostels to avoid being eaten alive.
You can be a part of our abroad experience, too! One lucky person will be randomly selected to recieve a bottle of Scottish Whiksy or any alternative of their choice. In addition to this, every dollar over the $600 goal will be donated to a local charity upon our return.
Helping with this trip would mean the world to us and we appreciate any type of support. Every cent and dollar will greatly help us buy food and travel expenses.
Our travels will be documented via blog posts and postcards, so you can follow us on our journey! You will be able to interact- make suggestions and comments on what we should do or have done. Thank you for your time, we appreciated it greatly. Slán abhaile!
