UNVIRTUAL: by Neon Saltwater
Neon Saltwater is a world that exists in another dimension, a parallel universe. My goal when creating is always super simple: to share this alternate universe’s feeling of happiness with others.
For the last year, Neon Saltwater dreamscapes have existed virtually as 3D digital images and video shared in galleries and social media. I want to take the experience to a new level by creating a real (unvirtual) environment to evoke this sense of happiness. This summer Neon Saltwater will bring this alternative universe to the Glass Box Gallery for six weeks.
UNVIRTUAL will be an interactive environment designed to remove us from fear and loneliness by connecting us to our core by stimulating our senses: sight, sound, touch, and smell. UNVIRTUAL will be a shared experience to reach us at a basic human level, moving us to identify shared human values. UNVIRTUAL will also host workshops, relaxation DJ sessions, and meet-ups throughout its 6 week residency.
I need your help creating this euphoric space, especially with upfront material costs. To create 3 rooms into these dreamscapes, I will need large amounts of paint, LED lights, thrifted furniture, wallpaper, raw materials, monitors, wheatpaste, and more. The cost of these will equal around $5000, any small amount you can give will help! Any proceeds made, any leftover money or proceeds from events will go to homeless shelters in Seattle and there will be a space to donate to this cause at UNVIRTUAL.

Neon Saltwater created and helps curate and administer the ROOMWAVE Facebook group (Join Group here! ) to collectively share images of spaces that encompass: deja vu, dreamlike, surreal, unexplainable, fantasy, absurd realism, euphoric loneliness, beautiful darkness, etc.

If you donate $20 I will incorporate your name into the installation, and send you a 4x6 mini print of a neon saltwater space
If you donate $50, I will give you a virtual tour of the space via Skype.
If you donate $75, I will give you a SURPRISE piece of the space
If you donate $100 I will incorporate your name into the installation, and send you a 8x10 print of Neon Saltwater
if you donate $300 I will design a neon saltwater virtual space customized for you and printed on a 16x20
