Temporomandibular Joint Treatment

Thank you for taking the time to view my Campaign. My name is Amanda and I have been suffering from Temporomandibular Joint Disorder since June 2010 following a surgical procedure I had done which stressed the joints and caused injury to my jaw. This injury not only affected my ability of speaking and eating without pain but has also led to symptoms that make living day to day a chore. These symptoms would include migraines, neck and back pain, numbness and tingling of the hands, as well as inflammatory issues throughout my body. Before I was educated on the symptoms TMJ can cause I was in and out of many doctors and hospitals for the pain I was experiencing. All the nerve tests, MRIs, blood tests, cat scans, and x-rays led to no conclusion leaving the doctors stumped as to why I was experiencing so much pain. 

After completing much research I have found a doctor who is one out of two doctors in the US that have treated many patients with TMJ and had great success. Please look at the below link for details on the procedure.

This treatment, like most for TMJ, does not accept medical insurance. After speaking with my insurance to see if I could file for reimbursement, I have been denied coverage for this procedure because it is not considered medical.
