Team Buddy Boy - Warrior of DIPG

Donation protected
Braden "Buddy Boy" Miller is nine years old and is from New  Lothrop, MI and has DIPG, an inoperable, incurable tumor on his brain stem.  He is the son of Bradley and Jennifer Miller formerly of Flushing Michigan. He has two older sisters Alyssa and Alexis. This is his story.

On January 11, 2017, Buddy fell on the playground at school. He was taken to emergency because he had some odd symptoms after his fall. He was then taken by ambulance to the University of Michigan where he underwent an MRI. We were then told that he has DIPG and gave us very little hope and told us we had about 9-12 months.   We refused to accept this and immediately searched the world for anyone that would help us save Buddy.  We were denied  every single clinical trial that we applied for. Our only option was 30 sessions of radiation to hopefully buy some time. Buddy completed his 30 rounds of radiation and the family took their Make-A-Wish trip to Disney.  Shortly after we found a clinic in Mexico that showed some promise. Their treatment includes intra-arterial chemotherapy that goes directly to the brain and is tailored to every. Child differently. Each chemotherapy treatment costs 17,000 -20,000.00. Insurance isn't accepted as it is in another country.  Treatments  also includes immunotherapy which costs an additional 15,000.00. Buddy completed 4 of those treatments and is currently awaiting his 15th.  chemotherapy treatment which currently takes place every 4 weeks. His tumor has responded to the treatment as he is now 17 months post-diagnosis, the tumor is currently stable, and Buddy just recently started 4th grade, a miracle in the making is our motto!

the family is constantly in dire need of donations to sustain this LIFE SAVING treatment, as well as maintain a home and take care of their family.  Due to Buddy's clinical condition and the frequent trips to Mexico for treatment, neither Brad or Jeni have been able to consistently work full time since diagnosis.  Because of all of your generous donations and supporting through fundraising, Buddy’s stable condition has allowed Brad to return to work just recently but they are way behind in all areas and Jeni needs to be with Buddy full-time and they are doing all they can to sustain. It’s absolutely essential for Buddy to continue these life saving treatments.

Your donations and love and prayers are appreciated beyond measure. We are forever grateful for each and every one of you. Thank you for helping to save Buddy's life!
