Marine LCPL. Quinton Gray, 22, youngest son of mother Forliesa Gray, and Marcus Gray, younger brother to Marcus Wheaton, eldest brother to Evony Gray, 19, and Keyanna Reed, 15, was shot on December 30, 2016 by three men, now in custody, in Arlington, Jacksonville Florida. He was life flighted to UF Shands in Jacksonville, FL; where he was placed on life support that evening. A bullet entered the rear of his head, being lodged into his frontal lobe. Over the duration of a week, with multiple variations of testing, partial removal of his skull due to severe swelling in his brain, and an abundance of hope, faith and prayers, Quinton was pronounced brain dead Thursday, January 5, 2017. At that point in time, his family and most of all his mother, had to accept the unbelievable. No mother should ever be placed in the position Mrs.Forliesa was put in. Although, she did what any loving, understanding mother would have done, and placed herself in Quintons' shoes. She knew, deep down, as outgoing, free spirited, and forthcoming as Quinton was he would not want to be confined, and enclosed in a hospital or facility for the remainder of his time. On Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 3:25pm, Mrs.Forliesa, along with company of her mother, and Quintons bestfriend/brother Adam Cathlino, she dreadfully removed Quinton off of life support. He fought strong, like he always has, but at 7:06pm, 3.5 hours later, Quinton passed. Leaving the pain and discomfort behind. Now watching over his mother and family. With Quinton being the primary financial provider, and Mrs.Forliesa, never expecting any of this, as no mother should, has fallen in hard times. The financial responsibility of her eldest daughter being a full time college student, her second daughter still being in high school, bills at home, and now having to unexpectedly afford the cremation, burial, and memorial service for her son; with all of the time spent away from home, at the hospital and disconnection with daily life; she's in desperate need of support and help, more than ever. Her electricity is due to be discontinued on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, and she's having to finance Quintons' cremation expense; unsure of how to financially make the payments. The memorial service is still unable to be planned due to the unknown fact of when Mrs.Forliesa will be able to bring her Quinton home for his remembrance. Anything would be more than enough to help this grieving mother and family get through her undeniably heart wrenching times. If not, hope, faith, and continued prayers for Mrs.Forliesa, Evony, Keyanna, and surrounding family is more than appreciated and welcomed! Thank you all in advanced for any contributions made.
